The Prince George Native Friendship Centre (PGNFC) has grown and continues to be one of the largest and busiest community service delivery agencies in Prince George. Our clientele of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples have supported the Centre's program offerings for the last 49 years. The PGNFC provides culturally appropriate programming to meet the community's unique and diverse needs. We offer a wide variety of services, which includes educational, employment, health, and social programs.

Friendship Home Program Coordinator- Full Time Permanent

  • You have successfully overseen a residential facility.
    You have proven leadership experience working with “Youth in Care”
    and families in a cultural context.
    Are you a strong and positive role model?
  • Do you have a degree in the human services field, experience in a Residential management capacity, and experience in working with Aboriginal children and families in a cultural context?
  • Along with the willingness and ability to work with high-risk youth; Awareness of community services, resources, and systems; Experience in working with Aboriginal groups/communities in a cultural context. Completing case management and report coordination; Project Management; Staff Supervision; Financial Management; Coordinating with internal/external community resources; Supporting and advocating for client centred issues; On Call crisis response; and Providing conflict resolution support and crisis management.

Qualifications include a:

  • Class 5 Driver’s License with willingness to obtain Class 4;
  • Certification: Licenced Manager of a Residential Resource, Life Skills Coach, First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (NVCI, CPI) Suicide Intervention, and Food Safe; or the willingness to obtain; and
  • Ability to undergo a successful criminal record search.
