Position Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating the ECE Bursary program and other grants that support the ongoing professionalization of the ECE field. It is a dynamic leadership position requiring a high level of project management experience and a significantly broad skill set. This position is a two-year contract with the possibility of extension.



Key Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Work with consultants to develop a provincial communications strategy, promoting the program
  • Work with consultants to develop communications materials
  • Implement the communications plan including disseminating communications materials, writing social media posts, and purchasing paid media placements
  • Respond to questions and requests for program information from individuals, organizations, schools, and the media
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the communications plan



  • Work with consultants to develop an online bursary application system
  • Monitor applications
  • Advise the Selection Committee in reviewing individual applications; facilitate discussions and support problem solving
  • Ensure timely communication with applicants
  • Ensure the database, online application system, and all policies and forms remain up to date



  • Ensure accountants have all necessary information to make bursary and grant payments
  • Reconcile reports from the accountants with the internal database



  • Monitor bursary and grant disbursements to ensure targets are met
  • Provide updates and reports to the Executive Director, Selection Committee, and program funder
  • Other duties as assigned


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Ability to effectively manage a variety of time-sensitive priorities
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision through periods of uncertainty
  • Ability to excel in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Significant experience in managing complex projects with external consultants
  • Experience implementing a communications plan and working with social media
  • Experience with change management or project management
  • Experience working with consultants to develop technical solutions to administrative problems
  • Incredibly detail oriented
  • Experience working with not-for-profit organizations preferred
  • Knowledge of ECEBC as a provincial organization, its programs and services preferred


Working Conditions:

This position consists of a 35-hour work week and may require some flexibility for evening and weekend

work. The working hours are negotiable, and the start date is as soon as possible. The rate of pay is $48,000-54,000, depending on experience, plus benefits.  The successful candidate is expected to adhere to ECEBC’s Code of Ethics and the standards set out by the Canada Revenue Agency for registered charities.  Upon commencement of employment, employees are required to sign a letter of confidentiality.
