Position Summary:  

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position is responsible for providing vision and leadership to PCRS’ Ashnola at The Crossing, Youth and Young Adults Residential Addiction Treatment Centre outside of Keremeos. The successful applicant, will inspire, lead and engage staff at all levels to ensure the guiding values, strategic objectives and operational plans of PCRS and the program are carried out. The Director will oversee a trauma informed, strength-based approach to provide effective and efficient services to our participants. This position requires a high-level team leader who is able to function independently and frequently under pressure while leading multiple staff, concurrent projects and deadlines. The director will have an excellent understanding of service operations and management, resource allocation, applicable legislation, staff leadership, advocacy, team building, contract management, culture sensitivity, and service evaluation.

 

The Director participates in senior leadership meetings, PCRS strategic planning, and attends Board and community meetings, which may mean travel, on occasion to Vancouver.

 

Academic and Job Experience Required:

                         

  • Relevant Master level degree plus 10+ years’ experience in a leadership/manager position responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of operational programming related to youth addictions and residential care or equivalent.
  • A trauma informed approach is required. We will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Desired Requirements:

  • Criminal records check including the vulnerable sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in program management, staff leadership of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, supervision, fiscal management, and budgeting.
  • A thorough knowledge of relevant government legislation.
  • Experience working with target population; experience working in an isolated environment.
  • Experience creating and working within a culturally inclusive environment for staff, partners, and participants.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous history and respectful inclusive approach with indigenous group is mandatory.
  • Experience developing significant funding proposals.
  • Effective team building and mentoring skills.
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills: ability to balance multiple, often conflicting priorities.
Salary Range:     $58.37/hour - $60.70/hour, plus competitive benefits package including pension
