The Position:

The Program Director for Shared Living, provides operational management and leadership for a cluster of related programs, including direct supervision of program managers, financial management and administration, human resource management, quality assurance, and business development. Their focus is on business, administration, and networking, as well as oversight of contract management and WJS relationships related to responsibilities. They ensure managers operate programs according to applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations and provincially-determined standards, and that all programs comply with contractual obligations. As a member of the Provincial Management Group, the Program Director participates in developing and approving policies and procedures, and contributes to agency decision-making. The Program Director also participates in national planning initiatives within the company.

 

Scheduling and Wage:

  • One (1) full-time position available
  • 40 hours per week with a flexible Monday thru Friday schedule, to meet the operational needs of the funders and WJS contracted providers
  • Requires the full ability to perform on-call support (rotation schedule in place) to the Managers of the contracted homes
  • Ability to travel within the Fraser Valley / Lower Mainland of BC
  • Hourly wage to be negotiated based upon skills and prior experience related to the position requirements.

The successful applicant must possess:

  • A degree in one of the humanities, social sciences or related field with educational preparation for the roles of manager and administrator.
  • Three to five years in a similar management or human resources generalist position
  • Must have specific experience with financial and human resource management.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Other Requirements:

  • Certified to conduct and supervise SAFE studies
  • Current WCB Occupational First Aid, Level 1 and CPR certificates required.
  • Experience with basic sign language and/or alternative communication strategies training or experience an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract
  • Reliable, safe vehicle with appropriate insurance
  • A physician’s note confirming suitability, including a negative tuberculosis screening test
