Initiatives for Just Communities:

Initiatives for Just Communities (IJC) is an organization with faith-based roots which began under the direction of Mennonite Central Committee Manitoba (MCCM). In 2010, IJC became an incorporated, non-profit, charitable organization which operates four community justice programs:  Touchstone, Open Circle, CoSA, and El’dad Ranch.  These programs provide guidance, support and relationship for people with FASD or intellectual disabilities as well as those who are currently or have been previously incarcerated.

IJC is committed to restorative justice practices in response to injustice and works to nurture communities where each person has a place to belong.   We value people of all genders and cultures and are working to increase diversity at all levels of our organization; board of directors, program managers, front-line employees, voting members and volunteers.

At Touchstone we support youth and adults with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) by assisting them in their everyday situations and by advocating on their behalf in their communities; thereby nurturing opportunities for their growth, belonging and success.
