DEPARTMENT:

Family and Settlement Services

 

 

PROGRAM:

Refugee and Settlement Integration Program

 

 

POSITION FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Manager, the Coordinator works with community agencies, partner agencies and staff to support clients, in the development of the program goals, quality assurance and provide overall administrative support to the Manager. These functions will take place within the Integrated Services Approach with MOSAIC Family, Settlement, Language, and Employment Services staff, co-location agencies, community organizations and stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate settlement services. In conjunction with the Manager, the Coordinator will work on designing and implementing a new program to support the settlement and work access needs of refugees and refugee claimants in the Fraser Valley.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in the Humanities, Social Work, Psychology, or Education of High School completion and certificate or diploma in appropriate area such as Organizational Development and Social Services and/or related life experiences.
  • Good knowledge of community development; documentation of services and diversity;
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment and software applications (word processing and spreadsheets).
  • Excellent program, organizational, human resources, and financial management skills;
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills.
  • Several years of experience (2-3 yr.) in working in all aspects of community development; experience in program, human resources, and financial management;
  • Some experience (1-2 yr.) in implementing agency policies and procedures.
  • Highly organized, able to motivate and provide strong leadership to staff and consultants.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Fluency in an additional language(s) is considered an asset.

Other Requirements:

  • Current and satisfactory criminal record check
  • Access to and use of a vehicle which has business use insurance coverage.

 

HOURS:

Monday to Friday, 35 hrs/wk. Various work locations including the Fraser Valley.

 

 

STARTING PAY:

$23.71 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

 

 

TERM:

Permanent Contract dependent on government funding.
