At the Southeastern Alberta Sexual Assault Response Committee (SARC) we believe that together we can end sexual violence.

We are looking for one remarkable Education & Outreach Specialist who is a team player, shows initiative, is friendly, fun, highly organized, creative, likes to get things done and knows when to relax. The Education & Outreach Specialist is responsible for the delivery and further development of research based educational programs. This is a full time position (36.25 hours per week). Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver sexual assault education, outreach and case management services within southeastern Alberta.
  • Develop, update, and deliver presentations to those of all ages and genders, with a primary focus on engaging men and boys surrounding healthy masculinity, toxic masculinity, and ending gender based violence. The Education & Outreach Specialist frequently provides presentations in schools to children and youth on the following topics: sexual violence, healthy relationships, positive coping skills, and accessing community resources.
  • Provide some case management an facilitate psycho-education groups for those who are affected by sexual violence.
  • Traveling to rural and remote areas of southeastern Alberta during all seasons to deliver programs and provide outreach services.

Qualifications you need:

  • Post-secondary degree in human services discipline or education
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in the provision of gender-based violence services, community development and coordination of services
  • Enjoys public speaking and working with children, youth, adult and professional audiences
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Talented in prioritizing and managing multiple work tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of evenings and weekends
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and computers
  • Class 5 licence
  • Reliable vehicle
