Employment Opportunity Overview:

 

The Canadian Liver Foundation is seeking a Regional Coordinator for the Central Ontario region. This is a full-time permanent position working out of the Markham, Ontario office.

 

Working in collaboration with the Regional Development Manager, Eastern Canada, this position is responsible for managing and coordinating all fundraising initiatives including 1st party events within the Central Ontario region, including the planning, execution and follow up of events. This includes, but is not limited to; securing sponsorship, media relations, donor development and researching opportunities to develop 1st party events increasing regional revenue. Acting as a representative of the Foundation, this position safeguards the interests of the Canadian Liver Foundation (CLF), patients and event participants by following established procedures and guidelines ensuring the quality of every event and all sponsorships. This position may be responsible for managing volunteers and summer student interns.

Responsibilities:

 

Mission Initiatives

  • Serves as an ambassador of the CLF by knowledgeably conveying the CLF key messages and its range of services and advances of research.
  • Represents the best interests, professionalism and integrity of the CLF in all activities and relationships through a unified message of the CLF Mission and a commitment to the organization’s standards.
  • Is able to describe why CLF is raising money and what it is supporting.
  • Represents CLF by participating in events such as education forums, showcases, and networking.
  • Ensures that volunteers and staff are integrating the CLF Mission to tie fundraising efforts and results to event revenue and volunteer impact.

Event Management

  • Applies event management principles and processes to manage the full cycle of events at the chapter level (e.g., Stroll for Liver and LIVERight Gala etc.) ensuring high standards for all events are met.
  • Ensures all events follow relevant CLF Policies and Procedures.
  • Communicate with stakeholders (National Office, Regional Offices, volunteers, suppliers, sponsors, donors, community liaisons, etc.) as appropriate.
  • Utilizes strong administrative and computer skills to complete all administrative and data management tasks associated with event management on a timely basis.
  • Creates and generates reports and ensure all reporting is up-to-date.
  • Liaises with external sources including media, community leaders, volunteers, etc. to sure effective promotion of events.
  • Establishes and provides support to event committees as required to ensure success of events (e.g., guidance, materials, staff/volunteers, timelines, etc.).

Sponsorship Development

  • In partnership with their manager, develops sponsorship programs and plans for events.
  • Collaborates with the Regional Development Manager, Eastern Canada in identifying opportunities for development and growth in sponsorship, awareness and donations (e.g., sponsorships for; event décor, silent auction, prizes, food and drinks, entertainment, supplies, equipment, venues, etc.).
  • Identifies and establishes relationships with existing sponsors and donors.
  • Cultivates and stewards relationships with existing sponsors and donors.
  • Represents CLF, participating as a guest or developing and delivering presentations.

Relationship Building

  • Establishes and maintains a wide network of external relationships with sponsors, donors, community liaisons, volunteers, media, suppliers, entertainers, and referring organizations.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with committee members and within the regions across the organization ensuring a teamwork approach when appropriate.

Fundraising and Donor Relations

  • Responsible for participant and team fundraising for campaigns to achieve revenue goals.
  • Coaches individuals and teams on fundraising to maximize impact.

Community Communications

  • Responsible for developing and monitoring social media content for Central Ontario region.
  • Maintains and updates the Central Ontario region Event websites.
  • Implement a regional communications plan to local markets.

Leadership and Volunteer Engagement

  • Responsible for recruitment of volunteers and supervising, coaching and training volunteers.
  • Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders (participants, sponsors and donors) in order to grow their financial support of CLF, as well as vendors and suppliers, to ensure minimization of costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies:

  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent experience in a fundraising, healthcare or volunteer driven organizations
  • Experience with Artez or similar fundraising systems
  • Working knowledge of donor databases
  • Experience with developing, monitoring and publishing social media content for business
  • Ability to implement communications plans, strategies and messages to local markets
  • Excellent written and verbal skills; strong public presentations and a proven ability to relate to diverse groups of people at all levels is required
  • Excellent budgeting and administration skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship builder
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities and sound judgment
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment to achieve set goals
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines and achieve quality results
  • Available to travel within the region and work flexible hours, including the occasional weekend and evening
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
  • Fluency in both French and English (written and verbal) is preferred
