We are currently looking for Home Care providers (contracted) in our Individual Placement Program (Youth Justice), for the Penticton area.

Do you love working with youth?

Do you have a desire to make a difference?
Do you want to be part of a dedicated team?

If you answered yes, WJS is looking for YOU!

Program:

Under WJS supervision, youth reside with contracted home share providers which include evenings, weekends and holidays. Monday through Friday (7 hours per day) youth attend WJS day programming and participate in various community and program activities with WJS staff.

As the home care provider, you will have access to 24 hour on-call support, and ongoing training.

The position will require 24 hour per day availability, however, in normal circumstances, the youth will attend day programming Monday through Friday, for 7 hours per day. 4 days of respite per month is also available.

Suitability of the applicant will be determined through a screening process based on an agency interview and screening, reference checks, submission of required documentation (including a criminal record search on all persons over 18 years of age that reside in the home, current first aid certification and a medical fitness confirmation). All home providers are required to participate in the Safe Home Study process, if not already completed.

Compensation to be determined.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess:

  • A completed degree / diploma or certificate in one of the humanities, social sciences or related field
  • Experience and knowledge of the challenges associated with at-risk teens / youth
  • Valid CPR/First Aid and Food Hygiene and Sanitation certificates (or will obtain prior to contracting)
