We are looking for a Residential awake night worker for the graveyard hours at our Abbotsford program. EFry operates a continuum of addictions care that includes: detox, structured support and stabilization recovery, to intensive treatment. Our services are designed for women who are abstinence seeking and delivered through a compassion based approach that recognizes addictions is a chronic recurring problem the lives of most clients. We seek to work with others who share our values.


Primary Purpose:

To establish rapport with the women and provide a warm safe supportive environment to enable the women to settle themselves for bed. You will be responsible to record your activities, interactions with program participants and as part of a cooperative team model carry heavier duties related to the program’s cleanliness.


Key Duties/Accountabilities:

To provide women with a positive group living environment in which they can plan for their futures and look after themselves. You are responsible for the overall manage and functioning of the program while on duty within the established guidelines and policies of EFry. You will conduct intakes as necessary and provide women case management planning and support and facilitate women’s access to needed community resources. Your goal is that women will develop a long term plan for themselves that addresses the full spectrum of their wellness needs.


Education and Experience:

  • Completion of a 4 year post-secondary or/combination of diplomas in the field of social services.
  • At least one year previous work experience in a residential environment is required for this position.
  • Experience working with women with addiction issues.
  • Motivational interviewing and group facilitation skills
  • WCB Level One First Aid, Food Safe Certificate

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of mental health & alcohol/drug issues
  • Understanding of harm reduction and abstinence seeking with compassion philosophies
  • Ability to manage change
