Salary:       $23.00 to $25.00/hour depending on qualifications and experience

Hours:       Part-time (approx. 20-25 hours/week) 10 - 12 month contract

 

Job Summary:

 

Stepping Stone is hiring a part-time Project Coordinator to help develop and deliver a new pilot project in Langley. The primary goal of the project is to facilitate community education sessions to increase awareness of the risk of overdose and share available resources. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Peer Coordinator and the Langley Community Action Team grant working group to develop an educational toolbox and resource material with key messaging. Together with the Peer Coordinator the successful candidate will contact employers and set up times to deliver/facilitate ‘lunch and learn’ education sessions at job sites and businesses throughout Langley, targeting various populations.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the CAT grant working group to develop a replicable education package/toolkit and identify key messages
  • Work with the CAT grant working group to put together existing resource material and develop additional resource materials as needed
  • Contact employers to arrange education sessions targeting various audiences (e.g., Trades Workers, Indigenous groups, small and large businesses)
  • Attend community events to increase public awareness and provide resource information about overdose response
  • Provide Naloxone training as needed
  • Deliver and facilitate a number of education sessions using various formats including ‘lunch and learn’ sessions
  • Order and transport food/refreshments for the ‘lunch and learn’ sessions
  • Provide regular updates to the CAT grant working group and regular reports as required
  • Responsible for on-going evaluation of sessions delivered throughout the project

Qualifications, Experiences and Abilities:

  • Post-secondary education in health/education/social services or related field
  • Experience public speaking, delivering/facilitating education sessions
  • Demonstrated understanding of the overdose crisis
  • Knowledge of issues related to Substance use
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Be comfortable working in a variety of settings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid BC Driver’s Licence
  • Use of a reliable vehicle
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Have completed, or be willing to complete the Take Home Naloxone Train the Trainer
  • Have completed or be willing to complete FOODSAFE Level 1
  • Ability to work flexible hours—some early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • The ability to work independently
  • Criminal Record Check is required

Additional Information:

  • This position will require working outside office hours and an office environment
  • Mileage is paid where driving for work performed is required
