The Director of Member Services, Sponsorship and Special Projects (The Director) is accountable for overseeing the day-to-day operations of member services ensuring member experiences with ACCA are meaningful, relevant and meet member needs.  The Director coordinates efforts to enhance services and continuously improve member experiences including satisfaction measurement and feedback resolution. 


As part of a small, focused team, under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Director is responsible for maintaining and obtaining new memberships, seeking sponsorships for ACCA events and developing and implementing special projects that attract new members and provides extraordinary member experiences.  In carrying out these responsibilities the Director will work with ACCA members, potential members, staff, government departments, Alberta Health Services, consultants, the media and the general public.  The successful candidate will be well versed in Alberta’s continuing care system and the roles and functions of the ACCA.


The Director will promote teamwork, effective exchanges of ideas, collaboration and creativity.


Principle Duties

Responsible for membership growth and retention with a scope of duties that include:

  • Set, implement and meet strategic goals to expand the Association’s membership.
  • Research and identify prospects/leads for membership growth.
  • Contact potential members to establish rapport to actively recruit for membership.
  • Develop and implement an Annual Membership Recruitment and Retention Plan.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with members by communicating and meeting regularly to review their requirements, current issues and challenges.
  • Manage and respond to member inquiries.
  • Provide members with timely information on emerging industry issues and trends.
  • Manage Association’s “Affinity” programs.
  • Conduct member satisfaction surveys to ensure association programs and services remain relevant and meet member needs.
  • Identify and develop programs, services and supports that meet each the needs of members in each membership category.
  • In collaboration with the Communication and Events Manager, create content for the member only website portal, member branding and marketing material, welcome packages, etc.
  • Maintain accurate membership records ensuring that ACCA databases are up to date. Provide membership statistical reports on recruitment and retention and monthly call reports.
  • Create Member Value Proposition reports for each member annually.
  • Responsible for the sale of all corporate sponsorships, advertising and partnership agreements for the Annual Conference. Manage sales and inquiries for the trade show.
  • Promote increased Conference delegate registration among association members and non-members.


Travel within Alberta will be required.
