Term Full Time (35 hours/week) – September 2018 to August 2019

PCRS requires an experienced accounting professional to assist with administrative and financial aspects of contract management.

 

Position Summary:

This position will assist the finance department with contract management responsibilities including the assessment and improvement of contract management systems.

Duties will include:

  • work with management on developing and improving contract management systems
  • prepare internal financial reports, variance analysis, and financial claims
  • assist in the maintenance of internal control policies
  • assist with risk management analysis
  • perform systems and workflow analysis
  • participate in ad-hoc projects as required by management

This position will appeal to an individual who wants to pursue a CPA designation.  Current enrollment in the CPA Program will be an asset.  There will be opportunity work on projects to gain exposure and experience on a broad scope of competency areas needed for the CPA Professional Education Program.

This position works closely with the Director of Finance and Controller reporting directly to the Controller. 

 

Academic and Job Experience Required:

  • University degree in accounting, finance or equivalent
  • Three to five years finance or accounting related experience
  • Public sector or not-for profit experience will be an asset

Basic Requirements:

  • Criminal records check including the vulnerable sector

Desired Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in the CPA program
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to recognize and analyze problems, propose sound alternatives and conclusions
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in an ever changing environment
  • Proficiency with computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with contract language
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
