Community Integration Services Society (CISS) has a Permanent Part time (32.50) hrs.  Life Skills Worker positions available at their Port Coquitlam location. Anticipated start date of August 20, 2018


  • The position is Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills are essential skills for this position.
  • Life Skills worker who is active in the community and is able to support with transit training, learning and participating in new physical activities including but not limited to swimming, hiking, and skating.
  • Life Skills Worker should have a basic understanding of behavior management and pictorial symbol communication an asset
  • The successful candidate for the position will have experience with employment training including working interviews, resume building and employment plans.
  • The candidate will have strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and build new community based programs for supported individuals.
  • Life Skills Worker must be competent in developing and implementing new programs in:  education, life skills, social and leisure and have the ability to establish goals with measurable outcomes aligning with the individual’s schedule.
  • Life Skills Worker will be required to support all individuals within the program including travel to and from their home and activities within the lower mainland.
  • Life Skills Worker will take on key client duties including but not limited to; writing reports, developing guidelines and analyzing data, maintaining client records.
  • Life Skills Workers will attend meetings with engage with other professionals when required.
  • Preference to female applicants as personal care may be required for male or female clients.

  Qualifications include related education, work/volunteer experience, ability to provide personal care, knowledge of medical and aging issues, current CPR/FA certificate, WHMIS certificate, valid Class 5 driver’s license, reliable vehicle that permits you to drive more than one passenger for the purpose of business (activities), business insurance with 2 million liability, computer skills and a good command of the English language.
