Region: Halton / Peel area, Hamilton area, York / Durham area, Southern Ontario, Central Ontario Type: Casual
Location: Niagara Falls, ON Salary: $19.80 per hour as per collective agreement

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Resident Food Service; sets tables, plates and serves resident meals, pours coffee, tea, portions desserts.

Prepares food as assigned by Cook, reviews menus, checks menus for preparation to be done and prepares production sheets as required.

Sanitation and Safety; ensures proper storage conditions and rotation of food supplies and leftovers; dating and labeling of foods.

Collects dirty dishes from dining room and kitchen, sets and cleans tables and trays for meal service.

Washes dishes, clean, sanitize, sweep and mops food preparation areas, storage areas and refrigerators.

Empty food cart and cleans cart after meal service.    

Perform other position related duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of grade 12 education

Must have completed or enrolled in Food Service Worker Certificate Program

Must have Safe Food Handlers Certification

Two to three years training and experience in quantity food production

Must have formal and on-the-job training in quantity food preparation, cooking, food and equipment safety, and sanitation.

Demonstrate leadership, decision making, problem solving and communication skills

 

Provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.  The screening is secured either through the National Canadian Policy Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment.

May require screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry.

Support for and an understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.
