Overview

The Manager, Member Services will focus on all aspects of member services - maintaining membership records; managing the membership database; setting up and welcoming new member organizations; responding to inquiries from prospective and existing members; processing membership renewals; identifying potential new membership sources; creating membership marketing drives, and conducting regular member satisfaction surveys of existing members (and non-members) to identify opportunities for new or improved member services.  The Manager would also work with the CEO to design, develop, market and coordinate all aspects of the BCSLA’s Annual Conference and Trade Show and the Seal of Approval.  The Manager would also assume responsibility for general public education and awareness sessions, providing opportunities to inform seniors and their families about seniors living.

Membership: membership development, recruitment, retention, renewals, member renewals, membership reports, member information area, networking, member retention process.

Customer Service: member inquiries, member requests, liaison, registrations.

Marketing: mailing strategies, prospect campaign, marketing strategy, member survey, marketing plan, membership materials development, outreach initiatives and events.

Technology: Adobe, spreadsheet creation, database creation, database management, AMS, data entry, analyze AMS data, electronic communications.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in revenue-driving opportunities and, when able, drive them. Initiate programs, tools, or strategies to increase member levels and revenue. Create and implement a targeted outreach strategy.
  • Take ownership. Solidly execute on deliverables and take on projects to promote growth and opportunity for your organization.
  • Leverage databases and look at trends; translate the data into use for membership marketing and engagement, development of new programs or benefits, and member retention.
  • Network with members. Find out what services or benefits they’re interested in, then propose and develop ideas for fulfillment.
  • Apply marketing / communications techniques that support membership growth and retention.
  • Lead in the Association’s Annual Conference
  • Lead in BCSLA’s the Seal of Approval.
  • Lead in education programming for members.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline (marketing, communications etc…) preferred
  • College diploma in relevant discipline and a minimum of 5 years in relevant experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in adult and/or professional education, customer service, or professional member services association.
  • Experience in event management and delivery of annual conferences and events.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and implementing effective education programs in a range of formats.
  • Experience with accreditation / assessment a definite asset.
  • Experience teaching professionals, facilitating instructor development, and using learner management systems are assets.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Excel, Power Point and digital platforms, including event platforms (C-vent a definite asset).

Other duties as assigned.

This position requires periodic travel.
