Recycling Program

SHIPPER/RECEIVER

Full-time – 40 hours per week

 

POSITION OR TITLE:                   Shipper/Receiver

REPORTING TO:                          Operations Manager, Plant Supervisors

GENERAL DUTIES:                       Ensure all loads are shipped and received in a timely fashion

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep loading dock area swept and clean inside and out
  • Keep yard clean using blower and sweeper
  • Direct loads as needed coming into receiving area
  • Load all trucks leaving plant using proper loading patterns
  • Ensure quality control of products and bales leaving plant
  • Take pictures of export loads
  • Turn in all paper work to office
  • Keep scale area clean after loading trucks
  • Order bins for shipping (level out loads and crush down toilet bin)
  • Keep metal and toilet area clear
  • Service scrap metal bins
  • Check stock of product to make sure that we have enough product to ship for next day
  • Clean bales and get them ready for next day’s shipments
  • Tarp any product that is out in the rain and is going to be stored
  • Help out in production
  • Load Hino with glass deposit once approved by office
  • Load garbage bales into bin

 

RELEVANT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Certificate of Fitness
  • Must be able to work in a dusty environment
  • Be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs./30 kgs.
  • Forklift certification
  • Operate machinery in conjunction with ACS Policy and Procedures and WorkSafe Regulations
  • Willing to attend training seminars, if approached to do so
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and Statutory Holidays
  • Skidsteer training and loader operation an asset

Compensation: $17.00 per hour, plus eligibility for a comprehensive benefit package after 3 months
