The Role:

Reporting to the Director, Communications, and the Internal Communications Specialist (ICS) is a new role that will work on a dynamic communications team and be responsible for leading CLBC’s internal communications activities that foster positive employee engagement and support of CLBC’s strategic goals and objectives. The ICS provides advice, and develops materials and tactics to help leaders to motivate and engage employees in support of the CLBC brand and strategic plan. Work includes development of an annual internal communications strategy; the continuous quality improvement and management of the CLBC Intranet and other internal publications and platforms, support for internal change management communications, and generally; writing, editing and audio-visual materials to support internal communications needs. Work includes external and internal branding initiatives to support the recruitment and retention of employees.



A post-secondary degree in Communications, Human Resources or a related field is required and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications, ideally internal communications and/or employee engagement, or a combination of education and experience. Experience with intranet portal management, and maintaining web sites and social media platforms. Demonstrated experience in writing, editing and use of current communications technology and platforms.


This position liaises closely with People Services, IT, as well as CLBC leaders to help keep employees informed, equipped and empowered to do their work and to support CLBC’s strategic plan.


This position is ideal for motivated communications professional with a strong interest in opportunities to grow their leadership skills in the field of employee communications.
