Women’s Health in Women’s Hands (WHIWH) Community Health Centre provides primary healthcare to racialized women from the African, Black, Caribbean, Latin American and South Asian communities in Toronto and surrounding municipalities. We are looking for a professional, motivated and dynamic individual to join our multi-disciplinary team.

PART-TIME CHIROPODIST

Part-time position (0.6 FTE) 

1 year Maternity Leave Contract

Positions start date: ASAP

 

FRAMEWORK OF PRACTICE:

 

  • The successful candidate will provide foot care functions and participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services to our target population. The Chiropodist will integrate social and clinical issues in her practice; working within a multi-disciplinary team.

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Perform assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health education/counselling and other clinical foot care activities according to the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
  • Ensure chiropody areas, resources, materials and equipment is maintained.
  • Contribute to chart documentation, participate in chart reviews and case conferences and make referrals.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment, education, counselling and health promotion programs and services for clients of the Centre.

 

QUALIFICATION:

  • Degree from a recognized school of chiropody.
  • Current registration with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario without limitations.
  • Three to five years’ chiropody experience in a Community Health or Hospital setting.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, an asset.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications.
  • In addition to English, knowledge of a language spoken within one of the four priority communities, an asset.

 

Reporting:

 

This position reports to the Director, Primary Health Care Services
