Senior Executive Assistant

 

Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area is an organization that believes in the promise of all children.  Our team works with community volunteers, partners and other supporters to create safe environments for children to be between school and home and to provide caring mentoring relationships for children and youth. In 2019, we expect to support over 5,000 kids and their families through a variety of programs. 

 

Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking individuals interested in the following position(s):

Position(s) Available:      One (1)

Status:                                  Full-Time Position (37.5 hours per week)

Salary Range:                     $49,000-$53,000 annually

 

 

The key responsibilities of this position will include:

 

  • Providing an overall high level of assistance to the agency Executive Director and the leadership team.
  • Providing coordination, communication and support to the agency Board of Directors and committees.
  • Supporting the Executive Director by undertaking key streams of work in relation to the information management of the agency strategic plan and annual business plan.
  • Planning specific agency events such as the AGM, board functions, leadership meetings etc.
  • Providing over administrative support including preparing minutes, presentations and report and completing various forms of correspondence.
  • Maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, taking phone calls, maintaining files and records and making travel arrangements.
  • Assisting in the coordination of day to day building operations.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A university degree or college diploma in a related field is a definite asset.
  • 5 years of previous experience working at an Executive Assistant level with senior management and senior level clients. Previous experience working at a board level and knowledge of working within the non-profit sector are definite assets.
  • Solid knowledge of the types of support needed at an executive level as well as for boards and committees that support non-profits.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proven awareness and knowledge of information management systems and databases.
  • Ability to plan and make decisions in a timely, organized and appropriate manner.
  • Flexibility and adaptable to change.
  • Some flexibility to work evenings (to attend board meetings) and weekends.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Candidates must be capable of performing independently as well as part of a team environment and have excellent interpersonal skills.
