Boulevard Shelter Services Administrative Associate– (Summer Job)

Temporary starting immediately for 9 weeks                                                             Surrey, BC


Lookout Housing and Health Society is a charitable organization and social safety net that provides housing and a range of support services to adults, with low or no income, who have few, if any, housing or support options. As the people we serve have challenges meeting basic needs and goals, we place minimal barriers between them and our services. Salary: $16.00 per hour.  Positions are funded in part through the Government of Canada - Summer Jobs.


Hours And Days Of Work: Will work Monday to Friday (negotiable). Shift start times will be 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. (negotiable).  Shifts are 7 hours in length, for a total of 35 hours per week.  Days of rest shall be consecutive.  Schedule may change with two weeks’ notice.


Job Description: To provide assistance, support, education and skill training to adult men and women in order for them to maintain and develop greater independence and stability in their lives with the goal being to support them in a more independent living arrangement. 


Job Duties:  Duties and responsibilities include providing admin. support, record keeping, general office work, data collection and assisting clients and staff. Working with the team to provide support for special events and assisting with agency wide events.



  •  Enrollment in a Social Work program is preferred
  •  Valid OFA 1 First Aid Training Certificate is an asset
  •  Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Skills Training is an asset
  •  Must pass a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  •  Priority given to students who are: disabled, identify as Aboriginal, or are a visible           minority
  •  Must be within the ages of 18-30 to qualify.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Demonstrated communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage high workload with multiple priorities
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to research and investigate and resolve issues and recommend solutions
