Wood’s Homes is a multi-service, nationally accredited non-profit children’s mental health centre based in Calgary. Today we have over 500 employees and provide more than 40 programs for 28,000 children and their families each year in Calgary, Lethbridge, Strathmore, and Fort McMurray.


Commitment to high-risk adolescents, challenged with some very tough issues, is not easy. These are the times when our frontline workers spring into action. The type of work we do requires quick thinking, confidence, forgiveness and persistence.


Wood’s Homes is seeking a permanent part-time Administrative Support I or II for our Inglewood campus which provides innovative programs for families with child protection concerns. In partnership with Children’s Services, this program offers outcomes-based approaches to intervention. Note that this position is from Monday – Friday 10:00am – 2:00pm with some flexibility in hours.


The Administrative Support will have the ability to calmly and professionally handle challenging situations, and is responsible for consistent quality reception as well as administrative support.


This position reports to the Program Director, and Executive Assistant.


RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Reception duties: Operate switchboard telephone system, greet visitors in a professional and courteous manner, answer/direct inquiries, ensure visitors sign in and out.
  • Manage office supplies and keep track of inventory and general office upkeep and organization.
  • Book and prepare meeting rooms.
  • General clerical duties –photocopying, filing, inputting data, correspondence, courier and mail.
  • Make arrangements for meetings, taking meeting notes, travel and functions as requested.
  • Ensure all documentation for each client is completed in a timely manner and is placed in the client’s file.
  • Track client data.
  • Provides administrative support for Senior Management as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Senior matriculation supplemented by course in typing and office procedures and a minimum of 2 years’ administrative or related experience.
  • Competent skills in computer applications, spelling, punctuation and grammatical usage.
  • Previous experience working with at-risk children is an asset.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Personal suitability is an important consideration.
