NEC Native Education College is a large private Aboriginal college in Vancouver and also works with First Nations and Aboriginal organizations to deliver programs in locations throughout British Columbia.  NEC works to strengthen Indigenous communities through accredited programs that lead to employment and higher learning.  Students have access to many resources and in-house support that includes funding, counselling and career advising. Reporting to the AECE Coordinator, NEC is currently seeking casual instructors for the post-basic diploma program courses indicated below:


ECE 269: Supervision and Management in Aboriginal I/T Programs and Supported Childcare

ECE 282: Advanced Child Growth and Development

ECE 280: Aboriginal Health Care and Safety in I/T Programs and Supported Childcare

ECE 225: Field Observations I

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required; ECE license is preferred; 2 years related experience to the course subject matter;
  • Successful instructional experience, preferably at the post-secondary level;
  • Knowledge of and successful experience with Aboriginal adult instructional methodology;
  • Aboriginal ancestry or extensive experience working with Aboriginal organizations;
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication skills;
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.



Appointment to these part time, contract position/s will require a formal criminal record check, the details of which may preclude finalizing an offer of employment.  This position is open to male and female applicants. Preference will be given to qualified Aboriginal applicants.
