Position overview: Under the supervision and direction of the CEO, the Director of Quality Improvement & Professional Services is responsible for, program evaluation, quality improvement functions through-out the company as well as professional services.


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Advanced skills, knowledge and understanding of best practices specific to quality improvement, trauma informed care framework, strategic thinking, systems thinking, change management, program development and project management;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture, customs, beliefs and ways of healing;
  • Understanding of current and emerging issues of importance to Indigenous people and communities;
  • Excellent people leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, building organizational talent, and empowering resources to achieve desired outcomes;
  • Good knowledge of Child Welfare legislation in Alberta and Northwest Territories;
  • Excellent knowledge of accreditation standards and able to lead the organization in accreditation;
  • Advanced program review, investigation and interview skills;
  • Advanced working knowledge of excel, data base and client tracking software.
  • Exceptional knowledge of required policies, procedures and standards;
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning, program logic models and outcomes;
  • Good understanding of cultural differences and how they impact treatment approaches and systems;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with proven organizational and documentation skills;
  • Experience in proposal development, design, redesign, planning, implementation, budget, staffing, and evaluation will be a definite asset;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with the ability to handle stressful situations in a non-confrontational, problem solving manner is required.


Qualifications/Experience: Preferably a Graduate Degree, or a minimum of a Degree in Business or the Human Services field with extensive continuous training and relevant experience. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in personnel management and at least three (3) years’ experience in a quality improvement position.


Other requirements: A current, clear Alberta Police Information Check, Intervention Record Check (dated within last 6 months), valid Alberta driver’s license and current drivers abstract (less than 6 demerits). Travel within Edmonton and Central areas and after-hours on-call duties are expected.


Salary & Benefits: Salary range $83,500.00 - $95,500.00 based on education and experience. We provide full-time employees with a 100% employer paid health benefits package (which includes vision, dental and prescription drug coverage, massage therapy, etc.) and a 100% employer paid RRSP equaling 3% of annual salary. We also offer free courses and workshops in-house for all of our employees.
