THE POSITION

The Agency’s Justice program is a client-centered environment focusing on strength-based individual and group focused education, assessment and counselling to youth and adults involved in the legal system.

 

The Supportive Housing Program assists clients to secure safe, affordable housing.  Clients are supported by a Counsellor and rent supplements are available to help bridge the difference between the client’s ability to pay and the market rent to a maximum amount.

 

As the Temporary Supervisor, you would:

  • Supervise staff, including providing non-clinical supervision
  • Develop and evaluate program activities
  • Facilitate and/or participate in department and sector case management meetings
  • Monitor rent subsidies, referral and intake activities
  • Liaise with and recruit new landlords
  • Tour apartments to ensure the units are clean and fit for habitation

 

Hourly wage range: Band 4- $24.71 - $28.05 (Annual salary equivalent: $48,185 - $54,698)

 

Hours of work: Primarily 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.  Must be flexible to accommodate evening and weekend hours as scheduled.

 

Start date: as soon as possible

Contract end date: April 17, 2020

 

TO APPLY, YOU MUST:

  • Have a college diploma in a Social Services field, with a University Degree in Social Sciences preferred
  • Have a minimum 2 years’ experience working with individuals experiencing substance use and/or involved in the justice system
  • Be proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases
  • Have access to reliable transportation
  • Have skills in mediation, conflict resolution, and/or leadership training
