North Shore ConneXions Society is accepting applications from motivated Residential Care Workers who thrive on supporting people with disabilities within their homes and within the community.

As a Residential Care Worker you will participate in a variety of community activities. Do you like to attend events, run errands, partake in recreational activities, go for lunches and dinners or enjoy the beautiful sights our city has to offer? How about utilizing your outgoing personality to encourage active participation of your clients?

As a Residential Care Worker you will participate in a variety of home activities as well. How are your cooking skills, are you looking to use your keen organizational and time management skills in a flexible role? Care Workers support clients through all their daily living activities. This includes personal care, medication administration and management, housekeeping and participating in activities around the house.

Care Workers also take the lead role in all health and safety initiatives within their designated programs. Do you have a sharp eye for identifying health and safety risks for you and your co-workers? How about your creativity in conducting emergency drills?

The available positions require applicants to have the following:

- The natural ability to support meaningful inclusion and integration into the community

- A sharp attention to detail and the motivation to complete all assigned tasks

- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with your colleagues

- A positive upbeat outlook on supporting clients

- A nurturing and supportive demeanour

- Strong computer skills and fluency in electronic legal documentation

- A Class 4 or 5 BC Drivers License

- Tuberculosis screening (within the past year)

- Medical clearance (ConneXions form)

- A valid Emergency or Standard First Aid with CPR/AED training

Casual on Call - Residential Care Worker - No BCDL is required for Casual on Call shifts

Morning shifts range from 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Afternoon shifts range from 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Evening shifts range from 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Overnight Awake shifts - 10:00 pm - 7:00 am

Overnight asleep shifts - 10:00 pm - 8:00 am

 

Casuals receive an additional 9.8% in lieu of benefits on top of their starting salary. All applicants to posted positions must have a minimum Class 5 BCDL and valid first aid certification. Casuals do not need a BCDL.
