Job Title:                          

Group Coordinator – Partner Assault Response (PAR)

Full-time (35-hours/week) – day, evening & week-end hours required

Peel Region

Temporary job expected to conclude March 31, 2020, possibly sooner

Job Responsibilities

Conduct group pre-screening sessions with individuals entering the program, provide program information, review contract & guidelines, fees, ensure signing of contract, fee agreement & consent

Make determinations about their readiness for the group sessions

Report on the day of pre-screening to probation officers, police & Victim Witness Assistance Program the results of the pre-screen & the date the client will start the group session

Implement suggested changes to the program, from the Advisory Committee

Maintain open communication with referral sources regarding client status

Follow-up with probation officers & the Courts

Participate in community initiatives, community outreach activities & case work services

Based on program needs, may be required to carry a caseload of Counselling Program clients

Meet all service delivery standards

Participate in team meetings & provide input & ideas for improving services

Contribute to team assignments & projects

Share in handling workload for positive results

Maintain the strictest confidence for all matters related to work in the Agency in accordance with relevant Agency policy & practice

Participate in orientation & training of new employees or students

Monitor requirements & upgrade knowledge & skills for client service

Perform other relevant duties as assigned for team or Agency


Key Qualifications:

Masters level degree in a relevant field

Current & ongoing membership in good standing in a recognized accrediting body

3-5 years of paid, full-time demonstrated clinical work experience in a variety of modalities

3-5 years of paid, full-time demonstrated work experience in domestic violence

Knowledge & skills in the area of addictions

Strong background in domestic violence/abuse/survivors of trauma

Training in cognitive/behavioral approaches, addiction & mental health issues

Proven ability to facilitate adult learning sessions

Experience working with clients who have abusive behaviours

Strong communication skills & understanding of various learning styles

Ability to engage & work with the various diverse Peel communities

Excellent interpersonal skills

Superior oral & written command of the English language

Proficiency in MS Word & Excel

Flexibility to work in various locations throughout the Peel Region as assigned

A valid Ontario driver’s license, appropriate insurance & regular access to a reliable vehicle

Flexibility to work day/evening/week-end shifts as required

Additional language(s) an asset
