Pathfind has engaged a client for the role of Executive Director. This position is in non for profit and will be reporting to the Board of Directors, and working with a professional team of staff. The Executive Director is responsible for the leadership of the organization, and the oversight of all operations, finances and relationships.

The Executive Director's responsibilities include implementing the organization’s strategic plan and the governance and risk management strategies that ensure strategic objectives are achieved, operations are run effectively and efficiently, assets are protected, funds are spent appropriately, and development plans are achieved. The Executive Director works with the Board Chair and Board Committees to facilitate the operations and deliberations of the Board of Directors.



  • Actively guide the organization’s strategic influence through a broad and well informed perspective of the various forces and factors impacting and influencing the voluntary sector locally, provincially and nationally.
  • Implement the strategic direction of the Board through appropriate delegation within the organization.
  • Develop operating plans, strategies and policies consistent with the strategic plan.
  • Establish effective working relationships collectively and individually with the Board of Directors.
  • Support the Board in determining the strategic direction.
  • Ensure payroll taxes and other statutory deductions are accurately filed.
  • Monitor applicable common and statutory laws and ensure the organization is in compliance with all statutory, regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Foster a positive culture that encourages teamwork and collaboration.Promote and encourage consistent application of the organization’s code of conduct.Oversee clients human resources strategy and succession planning.
  • Responsible for employee orientation, training and salary & compensation changes.
  • Cultivate and develop key alliances and relationships with all orders of government, as applicable, and with community organizations, foundations and corporations, and funders.
  • Ensure processes are in place to approve and report on advocacy, partnerships and collaborations.



  • University degree in a relevant discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the voluntary (nonprofit/charitable) sector.
  • A visionary who understands how to set a plan, and how to lead and articulate its execution in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong people-leadership and team skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Successful record of achievement in collaboration and relationship building with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a Board of Directors.
  • Government relations experience and strong business and financial acumen.
