Job Purpose:

The Corporate and Donor Partnership Lead plays a key role in establishing transformative partnerships that lead to a city with a deeper connection to and understanding of those Boyle Street serves and builds the long-term sustainability of the organization. Specifically, the successful candidate will take a lead role in helping the organization achieve a number of key strategic plan action items, including increasing unrestricted funds to create greater flexibility for the organization to innovate in service delivery.

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build, nurture, and deepen relationships with new and existing donors and corporations, always look for ways to add mutual value;
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with external stakeholders and organizations whose values align strongly with those of BSCS;
  • In partnership with the Ambassador Engagement Coordinator, actively seek to establish meaningful engagement opportunities for new and existing donors and corporate partners (onsite tours, workplace workshops, volunteer opportunities, event participation, etc.);
  • In collaboration with the Development and Communications teams, create purposeful fundraising and awareness campaigns that drive donations and raise the profile of issues impacting those we serve;
  • Become well-versed in educating external partners on issues surrounding poverty and homelessness;
  • Create opportunities for BSCS staff and clients to participate in development activities;
  • Maintain consistent communication with new, existing, and prospective donors;
  • Interact respectfully, cooperatively and effectively with colleagues and clients;
  • Be a consistent advocate for BSCS values and the people we serve;
  • In partnership with BSCS Management, build and coordinate moves management profiles for current and prospective major donors;
  • In collaboration with Accounting department, ensure donation processing and receipting is executed on consistent basis;
  • Remain current in best practices in the fund development field;
  • Record all activities on the donor management software (Donor Perfect Online);
  • Develop and update, as needed, policies for approval (gift acceptance, donor rights, privacy, third-party fundraisers, etc.);
  • Execute ongoing corporate and major donor recognition strategies; and
  • Ensure fundraising compliance is always upheld.

Qualifications:

Education: A degree or professional education in a related field would be an asset

Skills, Abilities and Attitudes:

  • Commitment to BSCS values and the principles of social justice;
  • Willingness to priorities the best interest of those we serve over achieving financial goals;
  • Comprehensive understanding of the challenges facing the population served by BSCS;
  • Creative and adaptive thinker;
  • Experience planning and implementing development campaigns;
  • Preference for working in a team environment with shared goals;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including experience in the preparation and delivery of presentations and reports;
  • Ease and comfort leading the cultivation of new corporate and major gift partners;
  • Experience with event planning, organization and management;
  • Experience with donor databases an asset;
  • Enjoy a challenging and fast-paced work environment;

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of previous work experience;
  • Experience working in the social services and/or donor and corporate relations a definite asset;
  • Criminal Record and Child Intervention Checks (results will be reviewed on a case by case basis)
