Job Purpose:

The operational leadership and day to day management of our Youth Community Support Program at Boyle Street Community Services in conjunction with Alberta Health Services.


The Youth Community Support Program (YCSP) Manager will take a lead role in overseeing the implementation of strategic planning and thinking, evaluation, accreditation, staff training, staff supervision and policy maintenance in YCSP.



  • Oversee all areas of facility management of the Outreach office space, including maintenance contractors, occupational health and safety requirements and maintain accreditation requirements
  • Manage program operational cycle and service delivery to achieve program goals and outcomes.
  • Works jointly with Human Resources to recruit new program personnel.
  • In consultation with staff, assess infrastructure, framework and key process that will ensure best practices, scope of responsibility and quality programming are clearly outlined and followed.
  • Engage with the partnership to represent, discuss and implement action items with a view to improve services for the participants.
  • Supervise the Assistant Manager and frontline staff of the YCSP program.
  • Debrief and follow-up critical incidents and/or crisis situations in conjunction with Assistant Manager as required to provide support, ensure protocols were followed and minimize future incidents.
  • Manage budgets, funder requirements and reporting deadlines.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate program policies and procedures. (Both within the partnership and Outreach documentation that is required.)
  • Maintain a process for reviewing Critical Incidents and follow-up with recommendations through the partnership.


Education: Degree or Diploma in Human Services or a related field.


Skills, Abilities and Attitudes:

  • Aptitude and skill in computer use.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork and organizational skills along with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Non –judgmental, empathetic, creative and enthusiastic qualities.
  • Broad knowledge of community resources, and ability to navigate mental health systems.
  • Program planning and evaluation
  • Individual and team conflict resolution
  • Partnership and stakeholder navigation
  • Advocacy in systems
  • Group facilitation


  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with complex populations, youth and families. It is expected that they maintain and are in good standing with any relevant professional bodies they may be members of.
  • Leadership role working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Criminal Record and Child Intervention Checks (results will be reviewed on a case by case basis)
