YMCA Human Resources is expanding and has an opportunity for a driven go-getter as Human Resources Coordinator.
In 2016 YMCAs across Nova Scotia came together in sharing Human Resources expertise. Since that time the scope of Human Resources has expanded in its Shared Services model and the department is growing. The HR Coordinator will work alongside the Human Resources Manager in providing support to participating Associations in the shared services model in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

A Day in the Life
As Human Resources Coordinator, you will ensure the successful delivery of quality, responsive HR support to staff and leadership in areas of Recruitment, Selection, Onboarding, and Staff Engagement. Specifically, you will:
• Support the centralization of Recruitment and Selection processes across functional areas in the YMCA.
• Facilitation and development of effective onboarding programs and supporting processes including facilitation of recurring orientation sessions, experience surveys, and process enhancement.
• Coordination of staff appreciation programs including event planning, administration, and record maintenance.
• In collaboration with the HR Manager provide support to Association leadership in Employee Engagement initiatives.
• Support HR policy enhancements, revisions, and communication.
• Provide administrative support to HR analytics, reporting, database maintenance, and HRIS systems.

You Have:
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
• 1-2 Years of experience in HR, Business Administration; prior experience in non-profit sector an asset
• Strong working knowledge of provincial employment legislation in Atlantic Canada
• Demonstrated strong collaboration, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple, competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to process improvement
• High level of diplomacy and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, confidential situations or information
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
• Flexibility to work irregular hours as needed
• Note: Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and proof of valid First Aid and CPR training.
