The YMCA of Northern BC is seeking qualified, passionate applicants to join our Prince George child care team!

The YMCA is the largest provider of child care in Canada and the YMCA of Northern BC is the largest not for profit provider here in the North.  Currently, the YMCA of Northern BC operates child care, preschool and out of school care locations in Prince George, Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, Chetwynd and Fort St. John.  We serve over 550 families with over 100 staff. We are committed to our YMCA A Place to Connect™ curriculum and are seeking team members who possess excellent communication skills, have a positive attitude, and a team work approach.

Major Responsibilities and Abilities:

  • Establish and maintain positive daily communication and interaction with families, providing quality child care, excellent service to families and building meaningful relationships
  • Ensure all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to licensing and YMCA requirements
  • Enthusiastic, fun and great role model
  • Flexible and willing to learn new skills

Qualifications:

  • Responsible Adult certification, equivalent child related training or a willingness to obtain training
  • Current Child Care First Aid, CPR and AED certification
  • Must be 19 years of age
  • Three professional references
  • Current Immunization record and TB testing compliance
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. The YMCA will provide applicable instructions and paperwork.
