Job Description


Are you looking for a role where you will truly make a difference and contribute to a growing industry in Canada? ECO Canada is looking for performance-driven individual to join the team immediately. Reporting to the Client Acquisitions Manager the successful candidate will have a passion for the environment and expertise in acquisitions and marketing.


The role requires taking a proactive approach to scan the environmental market, explore business opportunities, and utilize a results-driven approach to meet ambitious targets. As a key member of the acquisitions team, the Customer Service Coordinator will be responsible for prospecting new clients, outreach to new and existing clients, help develop resources to fill the marketing funnel, and stay on top of sector trends.


While each member of ECO Canada has individual responsibilities, ECO takes a team-based approach. Everyone is encouraged to take ownership of his/her ideas and to see them through to completion, collaborating with key influencers as required.





  • Perform daily prospective lead contact calls and emails
  • Perform consistent follow-up and follow-through with prospective applicants
  • Research potential organizations/employer leads and potential new markets, targeting various industry segments across Canada
    • Pre-qualify industry contacts and organizations by researching online to determine fit for the program
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and work to establish a positive rapport with every contact
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential/existing customers
  • Determine how ECO Canada’s products and services can support existing and new clients alike and pitch relevant products, programs and/or services
  • Work with the team to ensure all key stakeholders are informed of progress on a daily and weekly basis
  • Manage large amounts of industry contact lists across Canada
  • Record and track all prospective and existing contact calls using in-house CRM and various other contact sources
    • Update customer information and status of communications in the customer service database and corresponding prospecting lists
  • Program analysis and performance reporting
    • Track progress on a weekly and monthly basis reporting back to the team on targets vs. actuals


Marketing & Communications

  • Help determine marketing collateral and support content development that would align with environmental B2B clients
  • Collaborate with the Employment Programs team and Leadership team
  • Assist the Training team with the execution of in-person events and conferences, including tasks such as message syndication and acquiring attendees


Environmental Sector Updates

  • Stay on-top of new trends emerging in the environmental sector by researching, subscribing to appropriate newsletters and reading ECO Canada’s research reports
  • Do a monthly high-level recap on the information you have found to the acquisitions team

The incumbent should have demonstrable experience in the following areas:

  • Strong telephone and email communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to connect with people working in all areas of the environmental sector
  • Great attitude and ability to maintain control, while coordinating activities and balancing multiple priorities
  • Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Desire to work in a results-focused environment
  • Motivated self-starter with a strong desire to learn and a willingness to adapt to a variety of situations
  • Able to measure success metrics and identify trends
  • Previous knowledge or desire to learn about Canada’s environmental workforce
  • Superior time management


Qualifications and Education

  • Marketing, Communication and/or Business degree/diploma or equivalent experience
  • At least one year of work experience in similar role
  • Computer skills and experience with MS Office, particularly with Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience with digital platforms including WordPress, Google Analytics, Click Dimensions (or equivalent), Facebook, LinkedIn, Eventbrite, etc.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Experience working with customer database management platforms
  • Ability to evaluate and synthesize relevant content and marketing collateral
  • Work collaboratively with other team members
  • Fluency in French is an asset


This role is a 12-months contract position, with a three-month probationary period upon start date.
