A provincial Crown agency with an annual budget of $1.28 billion (2018/19) and a portfolio of housing services and programs that assist 107,200+ households in 290 communities provincewide, BC Housing relies on a skilled and dedicated team of Maintenance staff and leaders to ensure well-kept, safe and secure buildings and grounds. Accountable for the development and delivery of social housing programs throughout British Columbia, the Operations Branch oversees property management services for 7,800 public housing units and provides financial and management consulting services to non-profit and co-op housing providers responsible for an additional 33,400 units.



As Manager of Maintenance within the Lower Mainland Directly Managed Operations Department, you’ll play a vital role in meeting client needs for quality housing. Reporting to the Director of Facilities Maintenance, you’ll work with the property management team and external contractors, municipal officials and inspectors in the delivery of the regional asset management plan. This will include coordinating and delivering the modernization and improvement program for a portfolio of directly managed, non-profit and special needs buildings, inspecting buildings, and executing regional building remediation and seismic plans. A results-oriented leader that keeps current with changes in building technology, you’ll capably supervise a team of maintenance and grounds staff responsible for the general upkeep of buildings and grounds, plan and deliver corrective and preventive maintenance programs, and oversee security and safety services for properties within the region.





With a community college diploma in Building Technology or another relevant program, and considerable experience in managing the delivery of comprehensive property maintenance, grounds upkeep, and safety and security services, including managing major facility maintenance and improvement initiatives, preferably in a social housing environment, you’re poised for success as Manager of Maintenance. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the employer will also be considered.
