About Us

Arts on The Ave is an arts-based non-profit charitable organization working around 118 Avenue between NAIT and Northlands. We are artistic leaders who continually engage to build community, inspire and be inspired, across the globe. We think BIG! Our passion is to celebrate the human spirit through the arts, and our vision is to build a creative, safe and healthy community that is driven by the arts.  We live our passion and vision in everything that we do.

About You:

If you want to

  1. Be a part of a mission-based arts organization

  2. Work and play with the best team of volunteers in Edmonton

  3. Engage in a non-traditional workplace, with our coffee house and office space, as well as our many events “on the street.”

  4. Support LOCAL: arts, businesses and economies, community organizations and people.

  5. Be a part of a team of unique individuals who think differently, live unconventionally, and work collectively.

  6. Contribute to a nimble environment where no two days are the same, using a consistent “make-it-work” attitude.

You are:

  1. Exceptionally flexible, and we don’t mean stretchy! You are not stuck into one way of thinking, and you have a “can do” attitude in every situation.

  2. Creative and believe in the creative process, by consistently saying “yes, and!”

  3. A relentless multi-tasker, who loves to have at least 5 balls in the air at all times! You can combine this with strong prioritization and critical thinking skills, to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

  4. A helpful team member who genuinely cares about the other members of the team. You will always go the extra mile for the team and do whatever it takes to help others thrive.

  5. Able to take a little (direction, resources, ideas) and make it a lot! You enjoy building projects, programs, and systems for long term, sustainable growth.

  6. Especially customer focused, able to understand the many different customers we have, and how to consistently exceed their expectations.

  7. A lover of technology and continuously seek new ways to use it for the benefit of yourself and the organization.

  8. A servant leader; still waters run deep here, we lead without fanfare and MVPs. In fact, we don’t pay much attention to titles, even though we had to put one on this posting!

  9. Energized by both the big picture and the small details, you can move back and forth between macro and micro with ease.

  10. Motivated by dynamic, busy and loud workspaces; and you can find a way to both enjoy the environment and focus to get your work done at the same time. You know how to be friendly and open, while also setting the right boundaries to complete your tasks.

  11. Contagiously positive: energy giving, not energy sucking! If we are not clear, grumpy people are not allowed.

  12. Skilled in the art of identifying what motivates people and can use this to ensure our volunteer schedule is filled 100% of the time. You understand that our volunteers are integral members of our team, equal to paid staff, and lead them accordingly.
