Firth Residence in Abbotsford provides detox and 30 day stabilization for women, and transitional housing and support services for women on their own or with children. Clients receive case management and help developing long-term housing plans and accessing community resources.




To monitor and provide care for women in transitional housing and to ensure a safe and supportive environment.




  • Monitor the well-being of the clients.
  • Provide care to clients experiencing withdrawal symptoms and other physical and mental health issues.
  • Oversee requests and distribution of medication.
  • Complete relevant documentation such as shift logs and medication administration records.




  • A Diploma in the Care Aid field plus a minimum of one year’s previous experience in a residential environment preferably with addictions or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registered Care Aid Designation is desired.
  • Proven knowledge related to addictions and mental health.
  • Experience working in a licensed facility would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of community resources.



  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Crisis intervention skills or training
  • TB Test, Food Safe Level 1 and Standard First Aid with CPR, and Doctor’s Note of fitness required
  • Local Police search and Provincial Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Clearance required
  • Enhanced Security Screening required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Clear and current driver’s abstract
