Location: Port Coquitlam Salary: $19.45/hr + $0.49/km on Society business

Hours:  Must be able to commit to 2 days per week

             Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm.

Wage:  $19.45/hr + $0.49/km on Society business.

Anticipated Start Date:  As soon as possible.


Seeking experienced Life Skill Worker in supporting individual’s with various disabilities, to provide life skills training and support throughout the Lower Mainland, to attend various programs in the community.

  • Skilled in supporting a wide variety of people including: those with behavioral support needs and mobility challenges. Must be able to push/lift wheelchair or other mobility device.
  • Must participate in all program activities, including skating, swimming, supporting individuals other activities. Be able to adapt and implement program activities on a daily basis or when needed when regular activities need modifications.
  • Will be required to support all individuals within the program including travel to and from their home, and activities within the lower mainland.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to motivate and build new community based programs for supported individuals.
  • Must be confident in developing and implementing new programs and have the ability to establish goals, with measurable outcomes aligning with the individual’s scheduled activities.
  • Will take on duties including but not limited to; writing reports, developing guidelines and analyzing data, maintaining client records.

Qualifications: related education, work/volunteer experience, current CPR/FA certificate, Food Safe certificate, WHMIS certificate, valid Class 5 driver’s license, reliable vehicle that permits you to drive more than one passenger for the purpose of business (activities), business insurance with $2,000,000.00 liability, computer skills and a good command of the English language.


Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, personal care experience, and a basic understanding of behavior management and pictorial symbol communication would be an asset.


Experience in Medication Administration and supporting individuals with medical and/or aging issues and provide personal care would be an asset.


Preference to female applicants as personal care may be required for male and female clients.
