The Position:

 

Title: Supervisor, Counselling Services Job Type: Full-Time

Catholic Family Service is seeking an innovative individual to share responsibility for clinical, administrative and program supervision as part of a team of dedicated and passionate professionals. Counselling Services is home to sector leading innovation in the area of single session counselling with the recent introduction of online booking to reduce barriers and allow for rapid access to service. Alongside the Rapid Access Counselling program, Counselling Services is evolving the BICS (Brief Intervention Caregiver Support) program as well as driving initiatives in Referral and Evaluation work with Children’s Services.

 

Responsibilities

 

Clinical: A significant area of responsibility is providing a clinical case management approach to supervising a team that includes students, interns, and graduate level Social Workers and Psychologists who are providing a wide range of barrier free, systemically oriented clinical service. A solid understanding of mental health and trauma is needed. Given the generalist practice, the range of issues and the variety of approaches employed are very diverse and the opportunity is rich and rewarding.

 

Program: You will also manage programs through supervising and training others to ensure high quality service delivery and continuity. As a Supervisor you will assist with program outcome measurements and evaluation ensuring operations remain within budgetary guidelines and adherence to ethical and best practice guidelines is maintained. Participation in proposal development is an expectation.

 

Administrative: As supervisor of counselling services you will be responsible for human resource practices including but not limited to recruitment, development of retention strategies, performance management practices and direct staff training and development.

 

Agency: Contributing to, and providing leadership for enacting the Agency strategic direction and being a culture keeper for our highly engaged and successful workplace completes this important role. Your experience, skills, and aptitudes in the clinical, program and administrative areas will be fully utilized and enhanced in this learning environment. The supervisor also participates on divisional and agency wide leadership teams and committees and represents the Agency in the community.

 

Qualifications Required:


-Graduate degree in Social Work/Psychology required;
-Minimum of five years’ experience in counselling;
-Eligible for membership and in good standing with a professional governing body;
-Strong interpersonal, collaborative and customer service skills;
-Minimum of two years’ experience with clinical supervision, program development and administrative competencies;
-Prior experience with quality assurance, data management, program outcome measurements and evaluation and co-creation of proposals/reports;
-Certification with the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative’s Brain Story is an asset.
