GOAL: Give practical business tools to non-profit organizations that are starting or expanding a social enterprise, helping them to meet a market need, further their mission, and/or contribute to their sustainability.
Traditionally,non-profit organizations (NPOs) have rely mainly on donations and/or grants in order to archive their social goals. Unfortunately, with the effects of the recent financial crisis still lingering in our Society, these traditional sources of incomes are being reduced. Government funding increasingly scarce and citizen donors willing to contribute although with less economic resources at their disposible, means that more and more NPOs are struggling to obtain the funds that are necessary for theis sutainability and purpsose. Therefore, to assess, design and implement new business models within the NPOs have become in most cases a must. There are multiple examples of this new trend as for example restaurant services, building space renting, and service fees among others.
My purpose is to help NPOs in this transition, working together and coaching them in the whole process applying business, accounting and financial techniques that are being used normally outside the NPOs world, as for example (alhtough not limited to):
