Bedard Associates is a wholly independent Financial Planning Service which is solutions-based, not product based.

We teach financial literacy and have programmes available for not-for-profit organizations where we will provide the programme and we will train the trainers as part of our on-going commitment to give back to our community.

 

We are at the forefront of the newest technologies.  The benefit for not-for-profits is a reduction in the cost of managing and investing in Group RRSPs.  For not-for-profits, budgets are always under scrutiny.  Although they wish to support their employees, their budgets are stretched to the limit and any opportunity to reduce costs should be seriously considered.  Group RRSPs have been proven to best support employees for the long term and also, can help retain good people.  Balancing this with the man-hours required to administer this programme is currently challenging not-for-profits to either reconsider their participation in a Group RRSP or prevents them from opening one. 

 

Our solution is simple.  We work with organisations which have removed most of the paperwork from the management of the Group RRSP.  Everything is completed online and the participants manage their own onboarding.  All reports are available online to each participant, privately and securely.  

 

Since the paperwork requirements have moved online, and costs have been substantially reduced, it is reflected in the cost of investing.  Today, most Mutual Funds have a cost of investment, MER, of about 2% to 3%; and segregated funds purchased through an insurance company can have investment costs of up to 3% or more.  Our maximum cost of investing is 1.8%.  The benefit to your constituents is that more of their investments will be working longer for them.  It can be as much as 30% of their future retirement savings.  The risks of investment are similar to Mutual Funds, with historically less of a loss in market downturns and a faster recovery.  Since the greatest risk to retirement is longevity, ensuring your hard-working, valuable employees are well taken care of for their future retirement is something in which most organisations would like to participate.
