The Research and Evaluation Specialist is an integral part of e4c’s strategy team, providing expertise to co-develop organization-wide data and outcome strategies, improve organization performance, strengthen organizational capacity, and champion strategic alignment. This position values diverse perspective, clear communication, adaptation, and innovative thinking.

As the ideal candidate, you are well versed in various forms of evaluation, research methods, and outcomes measurements. As a skilled problem solver, you value a solution-based approach. You are a critical thinker with curiosity and seek to understand. You are highly aware of bias influence, so you welcome diverse perspective through research, discussion, and collaboration. You are committed to learn about the complexity of poverty and work with others to advance e4c’s mission and vision. 



Facilitating understanding of e4c’s evolving external environment through ongoing environmental scanning, information analysis, sense-making, and supporting facilitation and engagement with e4c staff, persons served and other stakeholders.


Facilitating measurement of e4c’s strategic progress through a collaborative approach in co-creating measurements and utilizing comprehensive data, research, and evaluation to track strategic progress.


Facilitating advancement in e4c’s Strategic Direction and Priorities through regular monitoring of internal organizational data as it impacts the strategic direction, agency, and program alignment, and contributes to continuous improvement.



As the ideal candidate you:

  • Demonstrated success in the development, analysis, interpretation, and management of a variety of complex data sources.
  • 2+ years’ experience conducting outcomes analysis in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data and interpret findings to clearly articulate impact of programs, services, initiatives, or projects.
  • Recent experience/exposure to different approaches to evaluation and supporting technologies.
  • Experience in collaborating and building the capacity of others as it relates to measurement, reporting and evaluation.
  • Experience with community development in the not-for-profit sector with awareness and sensitivity of the complex intersectionality of people in the community.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with ability to translate information to various audiences.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a solution-based approach.
  • Experience using Microsoft operating system and software including Office, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
