Futurpreneur Canada has been fostering the entrepreneurial passions of diverse young entrepreneurs across Canada since 1996. We’re the only national, non-profit organization that provides financing, mentorship and resources to aspiring business owners aged 18-39. More than 17,700 young Canadian entrepreneurs, spanning every province and territory, have successfully launched their business with Futurpreneur’s support. Here’s the opportunity: Bilingual Business Development Manager


You will have the opportunity to choose an appropriate satellite office in the province of New Brunswick. In this role, you will represent Futurpreneur and promote its financing and mentoring programs in the region.


You will be responsible for recruiting, qualifying and supporting entrepreneurs and volunteer mentors interested in our programs in their registration process with Futurpreneur. At the same time, you will maintain and develop strong partnerships with our partners in the field, to recruit new entrepreneurs and mentors, through them, in the province of New-Brunswick.


This is a permanent, part-time position, working 3 days a week. The role is based at any of our satellite offices in New Brunswick. The incumbent will be working on our hybrid work model.



What you will do:


Business Development and Customer service- Entrepreneurs 


  • Encourage the conversion of our entrepreneurial prospects to the appropriate programs
  • Identify and ensure a rigorous follow-up on high-potential prospects via our customer relationship management system
  • Identify the best visibility opportunities to reach entrepreneurs in your territory
  • Facilitate presentations and workshops to promote Futurpreneur Canada programs and raise awareness of entrepreneurial skills
  • Work in collaboration with business analyst consultants to ensure a satisfying client experience for candidates in our programs
  • Coordinate events as needed that offer opportunities to engage start-up entrepreneurs in your territory


Business Development and Customer service – Mentors


  • Recruit volunteer mentors interested in our mentoring program in their registration process with Futurpreneur
  • Ensure a rigorous follow-up with the mentors to make sure that their mentoring relationship is going as planned in our program
  • Work collaboratively with associates, client relationships to foster quality mentor-mentee pairings
  • Coordinate events as required that offer the opportunity to recruit new volunteer mentors


Business Development and Partnership management – Partners 


  • Recruit, qualify and train partners interested in referring our programs to their clients
  • Be in regular contact and maintain warm relationships with Futurpreneur's partners in your territory to ensure an appropriate volume and quality of referencing
  • Ensure a rigorous follow-up with partners to make sure they have all the tools and information they need to represent us well with their customers
  • Participate as required in the activities of partners in the field to recruit entrepreneurs in search of financing and mentorship
  • Coordinate events that offer the opportunity to engage Futurpreneur partners, as required



What you will have: 


  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (40% of this role includes local and provincial travel)
  • Relevant experience may include education with a focus on business administration, economic development, entrepreneurship or equivalent hands-on career experience
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, start-up business development or economic development position
  • Bilingual proficiency in both French and English, both written and oral
  • Ability to design and deliver public program presentations and workshops
  • Knowledge of trends in the corporate sector, start-ups and small businesses
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence
  • Strong client orientation with the ability to work with volunteers
  • Confident, proactive and motivated, able to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to develop and facilitate program presentations and workshops
  • Knowledge of trends within the entrepreneurial, startup, small business industry
  • General administration experience including budget management, report writing, etc.
  • Alignment with Futurpreneur’s values and commitment to the mission/purpose of the organization
  • Be a role model for Futurpreneur’s organizational culture by creating a positive impact at every touchpoint with people.


Scoring assets:

  • Professional experience in coaching or consulting with entrepreneurs or startups, particularly in the revision of business plans and cash flow statements
  • Computer skills: experience with a customer relationship management system is desirable
