Reports To: IT Applications Manager


Job Summary:

The overall responsibility is to provide analysis, design, implementation and operational support for S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’s software applications through needs analysis with an emphasis on SharePoint, M365 applications and Microsoft Power Platform (particularly Power BI). Working with non-Microsoft applications will also be required as needed. This role will own the SharePoint Sites implementation, referred to as the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. portal, providing operational support and undertake its ongoing development. 


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


Operational Management:

  • ·Maintains and updates SharePoint’s site map design, site settings, configurations, content and user accesses
  • Designs, develops, implements, and maintains SharePoint solutions including custom web parts, workflows, lists, libraries, integrations and applications
  • Designs and develops analytical reports and dashboards to provide critical information for decision making
  • Provides analyses, technical guidance, and implementation support for automating and enhancing business processes using M365, Power Platform apps and other relevant applications
  • Assists with the migration of applications and data, both Microsoft and non-Microsoft, continuing the deployment of enterprise grade cloud solutions
  • Liaises with network administrators and contracted service providers to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing
  • Assists with maintaining inventory of applications and their corresponding license agreements (Applications Portfolio)
  • Assists with the vendor products and services assessment during the vendor selection process and annual reevaluation
  • Assists with the consolidation of the Applications Portfolio
  • Develops and communicates training and documentation for end users, holds training clinics as necessary, and other user-related activities
  • Develops, distributes, and coordinates in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or applications


Strategy & Planning:

  • Ensures that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues
  • Reviews and analyzes existing applications effectiveness and efficiency, and then develops strategies for improving or leveraging these systems
  • Assists the Applications Manager in providing and presenting recommendations to various client groups
  • Cultivates and disseminates knowledge of application-usage best practices


Acquisition & Deployment:

  • Researches and makes recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Evaluates, installs, configures, and deploys new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise
  • Collaborates with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications
  • Analyzes documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality
  • Ensures that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications
  • Liaises with company’s software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies
  • Other related duties as assigned by the IT Applications Manager


Education, Training and Experience:


Formal Education & Certification

  • 4-year college diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering and/or 5 years equivalent work experience
  • Microsoft Suite Certifications including SharePoint is an asset


Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years direct experience managing applications and/or systems management
  • Direct hands-on SharePoint configuration, administration, design and testing experience
  • Expertise with M365 and Power Platform Applications including Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Document Storage, Power BI (including Dax and M) and experience with Power Automate, Power Apps and Power Pages is an asset
  • Knowledge of database design, file management techniques and best practices
  • Direct, hands-on experience with automated software management tools
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Experience with Power BI and/or similar Business Intelligence tools
  • Good understanding of networks and operating systems, protocols, and standards
  • Good project management and business analyst skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
