Position Description: Training Development Coordinator

 

I Preamble:

 

The incumbent for this position will be responsible for developing new and continuing training revenue streams for the Canadian Training Institute. You will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of processes and systems to ensure increased revenues in the training department.  This is a challenging and rewarding career opportunity with the goal of doubling our training services within five years. The successful candidate for this position will have several years’ relevant experience in revenue generation as well as an understanding of the not-for-profit sector. You are energetic, a self-starter, with excellent communication and computer skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain business relationships.

 

II Line of Authority:

 

The Training Development Coordinator will report to, and be supervised by the Executive Director or a designate.

 

III General Responsibilities include:

 

  • Designing and rolling out a marketing strategy aimed at increasing the revenue base within the training function
  • In expanding business, you will initiate contact with both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, government personnel, schools, hospitals, and other identified potential customers
  • You will maintain positive relationships with existing and new customers in promoting repeat business
  • You will oversee and monitor our CRM Maximizer for sales tracking, coordinating, generating reports and collaborating with others
  • You will be familiar with Learning Management Systems and the administration of online courses
  • You will maintain and improve as needed, systems to ensure staff are trained to handle inquiries and to create contracts for training delivery
  • You will ensure that course materials are organized for trainers and that trainers have been assigned for each contracted service undertaken by CTI
  • You will liaise with external partners to ensure the smooth operation of the department and ensure objectives and initiatives are met
  • You will conduct a follow-up for all customers to ensure satisfaction and leverage future training opportunities. This includes ensuring that participant training lists are completed, that course evaluations are completed and that certificates are issued in a timely manner
  • You will ensure that a data base is created which identifies courses delivered, participants attending courses, and that includes a summary of the evaluations for every course delivered by the Institute
  • You will liaise with CTI’s trainers and ensure CTI maintains an adequate roster of qualified trainers

 

IV Classification:

 

This is a full-time permanent position within the organization.

 

 

V Hours of Work:

 

This position requires that the incumbent work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. This position may require some evening and weekend work. CTI employees are expected to be on-site a minimum of 4 days per week. This schedule is subject to change. 

 

 

VI Remuneration for this Position:

 

The salary for this position shall include a salary of $50,000 per annum, plus benefits and vacation of 2 weeks. This position also provides for performance bonuses. These bonuses include $8,000 per achievement of $100,000 in new business revenues from training over and above a base line threshold. (Base line threshold is set at $500,000.) This bonus of $8,000 will be paid for each $100,000 over the threshold for the first $200,000 in new business. A further bonus structure for each $100,000 of new business over the $200,000 will accrue at the rate of $10,000 per $100,000 of new business. Calculation of the bonus shall be based on revenue earned during CTI’s fiscal year.

 

VII Non-Compete Clause:

 

In undertaking this position the incumbent will commit to not utilizing CTI’s Course Materials as an independent consultant without express written permission from CTI.  The incumbent agrees to not utilize contacts and business sources arising from work with CTI in marketing, advertising training and consulting services for a period of one year following termination of employment with the Canadian Training Institute.
