Position Summary:

Edmonton Drug Treatment Court Service offers community-based treatment support services to the participants of the Edmonton Drug Court, Provincial Court of Alberta. Working together with a multidisciplinary team, the Drug Court program involves a process of intensive judicial supervision of treatment, rehabilitation, community restoration and community reintegration for individuals who have become involved in the criminal justice system as a result of their substance use. The program works in partnership with multiple government ministries community agencies and organizations to provide the link to resources for participants. The program is funded by the Alberta Justice & Solicitor General.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and coordinate the case plans and relapse prevention plans for a caseload of 15-20 clients.
  • Participate in client and new applicant team assessments.
  • Liaise with multiple community service providers.
  • Operate transparently in a team dynamic in all aspects of client care and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with the Team Lead and case coordinators.
  • Have the ability to enforce rules and hold clients to a high level of accountability.
  • Support the administration of drug analysis testing.
  • Attend and participate in case conferences, unit/agency meetings and agency committees.
  • Ongoing case notes and administration of files.
  • Attend pre-court and court weekly.
  • Ensure program and agency policies are followed at all times.
  • Support all other team positions on an ongoing basis as required.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Adhere to the Drug Court provincial and national standards and principles.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Diploma in Criminology and/or Addictions-related field.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience.
  • Understanding of addiction and its role in criminal behaviour.
  • Knowledge of the correctional services system.
  • Knowledge of addictions and mental health.
  • Knowledge of community resources and experience accessing resources.
  • Excellent computer skills in addition to verbal/written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Align with the agency’s philosophy and core values.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Completion of a Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check will be required; A criminal record will not disqualify you from employment with us; we evaluate each application individually
  • This position has an immediate start date.
  • The hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
  • The office is located in the Transition Place Building at 10010-105 Street, Edmonton. Some work will be based out of the Edmonton Law Courts. Parking is included with this position.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $51,000 - $61,180 annually.
