Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Hydroponic Farm Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of two hydroponic farming systems, ensuring optimal plant growth and system efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of plant biology, hydroponic systems, and sustainable farming practices.
Key Responsibilities:
System Management: Maintain hydroponic systems for plant cultivation
Plant Monitoring: Regularly monitor plant health and growth, adjusting environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, light intensity, and pH
levels as needed
Nutrient Management: Administer nutrients and other growth substances to the plant’s water supply, ensuring optimal nutrient levels
Pest and Disease Control: Implement and manage pest and disease control measures to ensure plant health
Harvesting: Harvest crops at the correct time, ensuring they meet quality standards
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of crop activities and observations, including growth and harvest data
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of all hydroponic equipment
Research and Development: Stay updated with the latest hydroponic farming techniques and implement them to improve yield and efficiency
Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to achieve production goals and communicate effectively to address challenges or improvements
Sales and Marketing: Assist in marketing and selling the harvested crops

 

Qualifications:
● Proven experience as a Hydroponic Farm Operator or similar role
● Strong understanding of plant biology and hydroponic systems
● Ability to perform manual labor and operate farm equipment
● Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
● Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Passion for sustainable and innovative farming practices

 

Preferred Qualifications:
● Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
● Experience with vertical farming and other advanced agricultural techniques.
● Knowledge of local agricultural regulations and standards
