About the opportunity:
As the Manager, Project Portfolio Management, you are responsible for leading a team of program and project managers and overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of a diverse portfolio of projects. Reporting to the Director, Business Alignment Services, you will ensure that projects are taken from original concept through to final completion while aligning with strategic goals and optimizing resource allocation.
Key responsibilities:
Providing leadership and direction to a team of program and project managers, including recruitment, training, performance management, and administrative approvals
Establishing and maintaining project intake and prioritization frameworks to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
Overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects, ensuring adherence to project management standards and best practices
Defining and monitoring project goals, scope, objectives, risks, budgets, schedules, and outcomes
Consulting with key stakeholders to determine appropriate resource allocation, including staff, contractors, and budget
Implementing project management methodologies, processes, and practices that support operational excellence
Developing effective relationships with partners, stakeholders, and internal teams to enhance collaboration and project success
Contributing to risk management strategies and cross-organizational initiatives to ensure the effective delivery of business objectives
What you will bring:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in an equivalent position responsible for project, program or portfolio management
Minimum of 3 years' leadership experience
A bachelor's degree in business, public administration, computer science or a related field
Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
Experience with change management methodologies (e.g. PROSCI) is preferred
Experience with budget management
Experience in leading diverse project teams
Experience within the public sector is considered an asset

Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business objectives effectively
Proficiency in IT systems and project management tools
