Hiring Salary Range: CAD $130,000 - $140,000

This is no ordinary fundraising role. You’ll oversee two critical streams: 

• Leadership Giving – a strong portfolio of major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Institutional Funding – an emerging space with governments, multilaterals, and large-scale funders, primed for growth. 

You’ll unite these streams under one powerful strategy, build trust-based partnerships, and spark innovative approaches that ensure long-term sustainability.  

What You’ll Do

• Design and lead an integrated resource mobilization strategy that balances immediate results with long-term sustainability.
• Unify Leadership Giving and Institutional Funding into a cohesive portfolio and pipeline.
• Explore innovative approaches to funding, including new philanthropic models and non-traditional partnerships.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward key individual partners, foundations, governments, and multilaterals.
• Strengthen capacity across Kinvia to engage in institutional resource mobilization.
• Monitor global trends in philanthropy, climate, and food systems to keep Kinvia positioned for future growth.
• Represent Kinvia externally, building visibility and credibility in key donor spaces.
• Collaborate across functions, Programs, Country Directors, Resource Mobilization Committee, and global teams - in a matrix environment.
• Advance government relations and advocacy efforts, positioning Kinvia as a credible voice in food security, child well-being, and community development.

About you:

You have:

•  A proven track record in securing major gifts and/or institutional funding.
• Thrive at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and execution.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and the courage to test new ideas.
• Share our commitment to equity, decolonization, anti-racism and anti-oppression.
• Excel at building cross-functional and cross-cultural relationships that advance long-term, trust-based partnerships.
• Exceptional communication and representation skills, with the ability to inspire confidence among donors, partners, and global networks.
• Strategic leadership experience, including coaching and developing diverse teams in alignment with organizational values.
• The ability to navigate a matrix environment and lead change with adaptability, collaboration, and discipline.
• The ability to travel nationally and internationally and work flexible hours as needed.

Preferred Strengths:

• Knowledge of the historical and current context of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, with demonstrated experience working respectfully with Indigenous Peoples, communities, and organizations.
• Knowledge of food systems, international development, and climate advocacy, with the ability to connect these global issues to resource mobilization strategies and donor engagement.
• French or Spanish language skills.
• Experience with Global Affairs Canada or similar institutional funders.
