Permanent and locum Midwife opportunities in the Northwest Territories

We have many different positions (indeterminate, term and casual/locum)

 

Your Role

  • Provide full-scope midwifery care: prenatal, birth, postpartum, and newborn services
  • Practice autonomously as the most responsible provider for your clients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and Indigenous partners
  • Deliver culturally safe, relationship-based care
  • Contribute to the development of midwifery services across the territory

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salaries: $121.6k - $150k
  • Paid benefits: $ 29.4k – $ 40.3k in the first year.
  • Paid on-call: 1 hour of pay per 8 hours on-call, plus compensation for overtime hours worked.
  • Defined Benefit Pension Plan, comprehensive health and dental benefit plan.
  • Paid relocation, including 10 – 21 days of paid accommodations.
  • Northern tax deductions $11 – $22/daily.
  • Deferred salary, take 80 - 90% of salary for 6 – 12 months of paid leave.
  • Up to $50k is available to support long-term education goals through professional development programs.

Qualifications
A Baccalaureate degree in Midwifery (Health Sciences) or assessed through a Prior Learning and Experience Assessment (PLEA) program within a Canadian province, with a minimum of two years of experience in delivering midwifery care as a primary care provider.
