Job Summary

 

BCCHC is recruiting an experienced Registered Social Worker to join its interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.  Reporting to the Integrated Client Services Manager, the Social Worker will be responsible for offering individual and group counselling to BCCHC clients as well as clinical supervision to other Social Workers. The individual in this role will provide direction and leadership in planning, developing and evaluating the delivery of mental health services for clients and member of the local community.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling for clients and community residents
  • Provide clinical supervision to Social Work team members based on regulatory requirements
  • Provide guidance to staff on the interpretation of legislation, regulations, standards, and procedures relating to mental health service provision
  • Work with staff across teams to manage the intake system, including waitlist management, and coordinating service delivery through the use of referrals and integrated case management with other programs and community services
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health programs and policies within the organization
  • Support audits of the team’s clinical records and case reviews
  • Participate in the planning, delivery, and assessment of community mental health education and prevention activities for service providers and related groups

•         Advocate on behalf of clients and community on issues that arise and support community crisis response initiatives

Required Qualifications

•      Minimum Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology or equivalent academic preparation from a recognized institution

•      Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers 

•      Experience as a clinical social worker, with minimum 3 years experience providing coaching and clinical supervision

•      Training and/or experience in a variety of theoretical models with experience incorporating culturally safe, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practices, and an understanding of the social determinants of health

•      Previous experience working with diverse communities, including racialized and vulnerable population groups in urban communities

•      Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high level of confidentiality, and the ability to work under pressure with professionalism.

•      Advanced knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirements relating to Mental Health and Addictions

•      Experience in program planning, implementation and evaluation frameworks

•      Strong facilitation skills, with demonstrated ability writing reports and presentations

•      Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders

•      Clinical knowledge to advise and guide a team of multi-disciplinary professionals

•      Familiarity with scheduling and electronic health record keeping, preferable with TELUS Practice Solution Suite (PS Suite)

•      Ability to speak French fluently is an asset

 

 

Reports to: Manager, Integrated Client Services

 

Compensation: $67,733 – $77,144 plus excellent extended health benefits package
